Before You Begin the Course
This page contains instructions and tips that will provide a better experience while using Teen Focus on Distracted Driving: Distractions and Teen Crashes. Read the instructions carefully. At the bottom of the page is a button to access the course. The course will open in a new tab in your browser.
Login as guest.
When you select “Click Here to Begin the Course”, you will see the page shown below. Use the “Log in as a guest” button (circled in the picture) to access the course start page. If you see a different screen, look for a “Log in” link in the upper right, and you will come to this page.
Enter the course.
The course start page is shown below. You will see some lines of information and a blue button marked “Enter”. Select the button (magnified in the circle), and this will take you to the main player page, where the course will begin automatically. If an Alert window pops up, just select OK and continue.
The course will begin automatically in the main player window.
The image below shows the main player page. It has several controls that are described in the Helpful Tips (below). Note that it may take from several seconds up to a minute for the course to load, depending on your computer and connection.
A few tips…
A number of controls are marked on the main player page, shown above. You can use these controls to get a better view of the course and to find navigation tools.
• You may want to close the course options menu (circled and labeled above). Closing the course options menu will make the course player larger. You may also want to maximize your browser.
• On the left-hand side of the page is an enrollment menu. Above it, you will see a menu icon (three lines) — select these three lines to open and close the enrollment menu. Closing this menu will make the course player even larger, and you will see the course menu on the left of the main player window.
• At the upper right of the black main player window, you will see three lines, marked “Course menu” in the image above. Selecting these three line will open and close the course menu. Closing this menu will make the course player even larger.
• After you have completed the course, you can access the post-test with the link under the bottom right-hand corner of the player window.
• And don’t forget to Take the Pledge by returning to the Preventing Teen Distracted Driving main page, where you can download the pledge and print it out.
