Teen Focus on Distracted Driving: Distractions and Teen Crashes
Teen Focus on Distracted Driving is based on the latest research into how to reduce teen crashes and distracted driving behaviors. In this course, teens will learn about distractions (including some they never thought of!) and how these distractions cause crashes. They will learn about the statistics and why teens aged 15-19 are at higher risk than other drivers. They will learn about the costs to themselves, their family, and their community that result every time a teen is involved in a crash. They will learn something about how the brain works and why distraction causes so many crashes. They will learn about risk and how it works – scarier does not mean riskier. And finally, they will learn about Florida law and the penalties for distracted driving and its consequences.
Driving is an exciting new opportunity for many teenagers – and with the right information and taking responsibility, it can be a happy and fun one.
